This presentation, conducted by Mark Robinson of R.B. Royal Industries Inc. reviewed the differences between hose and tube and when it's appropriate to use one over the other.

Mark did a great job of spicing up this subject with interesting and fun quotes, but more importantly, his slides and talk gave a good overview of the definitions of tubes (rigid fluid transfer components) and hose (flexible fluid transfer components) as well as hybrid assemblies. He also offered application examples, and discussed important things to consider, such as tolerance, space and routing constraints, contamination and corrosion, and more, when choosing which type of assembly to use.

Which type of assembly do you see used more in your applications? Do you think one works better than the other or is just a matter of the component fitting the application best?
