Windsor, Conn. – Kaman Industrial Technologies announced today the planned opening of a new distribution center located in Savannah, Georgia. This new facility expands Kaman’s distribution network to a total of six distribution centers across North America. The new center is being built to enhance Kaman’s ability to service the growing industrial market in the Southeast.

The 46,000 sq.-ft. distribution center will be located within the SPA Industrial Park in Savannah’s Garden City area and is scheduled to open in June 2008. The facility will also include a Kaman Industrial Technologies branch office.

“We are very pleased to expand our service to this important industrial marketplace,” said Kaman Industrial Technologies’ president, T. Jack Cahill. “The construction of this new facility supports our commitment to serve the growing needs of our national, regional, and local customers in this region with timely delivery of a broad range of products and technology-based services.”

Kaman's new distribution center will join a number of major distribution centers in the area operated by leading companies such as Target, IKEA, Pier One, Home Depot, and Lowe's. As the second largest port on the East Coast, the Savannah market reported a growth rate of approximately 15% over the past year and has been rated as a 5-Star Logistics Metro Area by Expansion Management and Logistics Today.
