Some sad news to report, courtesy Accumulators, Inc. ...

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of our great friend and colleague Julius Kendall. He succumbed to surgical complications August 2nd. He was 87.

He is the father of Rick Kendall, VP and general manager of Accumulators, Inc.

For over 60 years, Jules has been instrumental in the development of the Fluid Power Industry. His numerous patents & innovations have helped shape our business. He had been particularly influential in the development of the
bladder accumulator market.

Jules Kendall began his fluid power career with Greer Hydraulics when they were in Long Island, N.Y., back in 1946, after coming out of the U.S. Navy as a test pilot ... He worked for Ed Greer as VP of engineering and sales developing applications for test stands and the bladder accumulator, until 1957, when he started Kenett Corporation in the Boston area. Kenett,
a manufacturer and distributor of hydraulic components and systems, grew into a very prosperous company with over 75 employees until it was sold in 1991.

Jules sold off the manufacturing business to The Entwistle Co., in Hudson, Mass., a military contractor and diversified manufacturer. Jules was VP of Entwistle until his death. He was instrumental in the design of hundreds of pieces of equipment for the U.S. Navy and commercial applications that are still in use today and still being manufactured by
Entwistle.

Over the past 50 years, Jules contributed many times to H&P.
