30% to 50% energy savings is a real eye opener and cannot be overlooked. It is also interesting how the hydraulic hybrids are better equiped to cope with extremely demanding applications.

Regenerative breaking allows for more fuel SAVINGS also. Another great fluid power application!

Michael;

I was told once, The only person who does'nt make misteaks, mistakes, is the ones who never do anything. However, that is the biggest mistake anyone can make.

I stopped keeping track of my mistakes some years back.

Anyway, I was trying to be funny since it was obvious to anyone what you meant. I meant no offense.

Bud, that IS an interesting posting...

...without it sounding to self-serving or anything, but many of the topics that Mr. Casey brings up are generally hot-button session topics at our fluid power conf. & expo.

I suppose that, if nothing else, it points to the relevance of this fluid power educational event which underscores the importance of knowing more about these topics.

(sorry for the unintentional plug for the event)

hello, take a look at some options (hydraulic Hybrid trucks) that have been implemented in trucks, and how they work at: Hydraulic Hybrid Technology

Hydraulic Hybrids

For a mild hybrid that just captures braking energy and uses it to restart the gas motor and pull away from a stoplight (but with very little range from regen recapture), a hydraulic pressure hybrid system is an interesting alternative to an electric system.

Hybrid Drives by , Electrics , Hydraulucs , Pneumatics or Mechanics are
an intermediate stage between traditional and full electeric drive. The full electric drives will regenerate braking energy
to electricity and even electeric shock obsorbers will be used
for regenarating energy.
