Josh;
I saw this Ad on your company web site:
"Sudbury, ON

1. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to work as a entry-level hydraulic sales representative based out of our Sudbury, Ontario location. We are willing to provide fluid power training to the right candidate. You can submit your resume by fax to (705) 682-0834 or e-mail as shown below."

1. What do you look for in the individuals qualifications for this "willing to train" situation?

2. What type of Fluid Power training is given to the person off the street.

The reason I'm interested is, this seems to be the way most persons entering the Fluid Power field are recruited. That was my situation in 1959 when I was hired by Miller Fluid Power as a salesman. Spent 4 intensive weeks in the Bensenville, IL plant learning some Fluid Power application but primarily the product line Miller had at the time.

I was turned loose after that in a territory in Southern Indiana and quickly found that 99.9% of the customers I was selling to had 99.9% less training in anything Fluid Power than I did. The rest is history and a very rewarding carreer.

Bud,

I have a similar story...saw an ad in the Columbus Post-Dispatch for a "hydraulic" technician...for (then) Hagglunds-Denison.

My 2 years tech school program (robotics) had all of 4 weeks hydraulics experience...

The Service Manager (Charlie Higginbotham) hired me and boy was I in for a ride...and after working there for a couple of years, I then went to work for a Denison Distributor, but eventually went out on my own.

Check out my website www.rmhydro.com

Let's stay in touch, as I am one of the last remaining Denison Experts that knows the Denison product line (from the 50's all the way thru the current Gold Cup and Premier product lines) that is not retired yet... ha ha...

No, we are not hiring sales/marketing at this time, but we are always looking for someone with 10+ years with DENISON product technical experience (applications/service). Gold Cup product line EXPERT experience is a MUST, and other product lines is a plus...

I keep having a guy suggest the RX AFM in my intake thread.. Does it need special calibrating, as it apparently does to be used by the BP FWD Protege guys?

Regards

Rocky

Wow, I just found this thread now. I never got a chance to answer Bud. To be honest, I'm not sure what the guys in Sudbury were looking for in a sales person.
