Womack is still going strong and all the books plus the Data Book can be purchased here:
https://training.womack-educational.com/Merchant2/merch...=WE&Category_Code=TA Been using this handy pocket guide since a customer gave me one in 1967. It was a First Editon, Second Printing and I still have it. The neat thing about the First Editions was several unusual circuits and a lot of info on sizing cylinders in applications where the load was at an angle or other configurtions. This info was dropped in about the Third Edition since the author said it could be a liability situation if someone got hurt using the formula's even if they did it wrong. If you have older relatives that worked in Engineering or Maintenance check with them to see if they might have copies of these earlier Editions. That and customers in my sales days is where I found a lot of these older ones. Another place is Ebay auctions. Recently I bought some books that were offered as Data Books but, when I got them I found they were Womack catalogs with the Data book dispersed throughout the sales information. Just another place to look. BTW, I was told the book has always been the same number of pages so as new editions were updated with new formula, charts, etc. older information was removed never to be seen again. I often referred to the older Editions that I still have as new challenges in circuit design came up. I also used the training books, Vol. 1 & 2 plus Vickers Industrial Fluid Power and 120 pages of copied material when I started teaching Fluid Power classes. Finally got tired of all that material that was laid out differently than my style of teaching and wrote my own. You can see them at: http://www.hydraulicspneumatics.com/200/eBooks/ The Circuits book is for an advanced class for anyone who has completed basics. Hi Bud,
The good thing is that Husco distributed the "Fluid Power Data Book" Free. The bad thing is that Husco don't distribute it any more. The bad thing with Womack that you have to purchase it in 10 pcs at least. Your E-Book is impressive. |

Nahum;
I don't have a problem with the minimum order since I put one in every training book I sell plus I hand them out with my contact infromation stamped on them instead of calling cards. Have you noticed how the information in my basic book is presented? General Info and Symbols are in Chapters 1-4 with the remainder of the book going through a typical Hydraulic circuit, Starting at the Tank, Chapter 5 and proceding to the Actuators, Chapter 15. The remaining chapters cover items that are not used in a typical circuit plus a chapter on Air Logic. This format seemed to work best, even when I was using others books, since the items discussed were to be used to move or operate the folloing components. This layout allows easy reading assignments and helps persons who have to miss a class keep up. I placed information on how a Gas operated circuit reacts differently than a Liquid circuit since these differences can present problems and should be considered when designing a new machine. The section on Brain Teasers is for reinforcing the information on several subjects and promotes independent thinking on the students part. The one on the Blown Cylinder Seals always gets a lot of discussion going. Glad you liked it. Bud Trinkel FP Consultant Retired "Fame is a vapor, popularity an accident, riches take wings.
