I'm looking for a 2 way, normally closed pneumatic float switch. I see a few horizontal units out there but none vertical. I have an old application with a coolant tank.........the customer has an air valve with a chain lowered into the tank (with a weighted float on the end). When the tank gets to the float, the valve opens and air goes through the valve to a air motor, which empties the tank. Looking for something similar!

Thanks

Thanks

Your explanation of how the present circuit works is not clear.

Could you make a sketch of the present setup? A picture is worth a thousand words.

Have you ever looked at the electrical switch setup for a Sump Pump. They control Level with a vertical moving float that operates a switch. A similar setup could be done with an Air Switch and a Pilot Operated Air Valve to run the Air Motor.

How can you have a horizontal float switch? Things tend to rise and fall on the vertical plane when floating in a liquid...

There's a liquid device called a Hydrominder which opens and closes a valve based on a chain float. Perhaps it's compatible with air, or perhaps they make one.

By "horizontal", I ment it would mount in the side of the tank like this: http://www.gemssensors.com/content.aspx?id=2224

NOT what I want......

I'll try and get a picture of the unit.
