advantages of pneumatics

what is the advantages and disadvantages of pneumatic powered devices eg. a numatic drill, compared to that of one powered by a electric motor?

One advantage is physical size of the peumatic powered type.

Another is operating the drill in an explosion hazard operation. And how about installations where the drill is subjected to coolant flushing and what that can mean to some electric motors.

Also, the pneumatic drill does no require two types of power, only an air line is required.

The main disadvantage is operating cost of the air motor especially if it runs continuously.

Others could be Noise, poor maintenace practices like forgetting to add oil to the Lubricator.
