Does anybody know if rotary vane vacuum pump performance is linear? I have a pump curve for a a number of speeds and would like to see what happens at a speed other than what is published. Or is it a case of affinity laws such as with centrifugal pumps?

Thanks.

I believe it to be linear. These pumps are different than the centrifugal pumps in that the output is isolated from the input. On the centrifugal pump, you can completely block the output and the pump with still spin. You can't do that with the vane pump.

So on the vane pump, the faster you spim it, the more flow you will genterate. (up to its max rating)

If at first you don't succeed, maybe skydiving wasn't for you.
