Used that circit many times on Uni-Directional otor Drives.

I'd have a relief valve in there too.
Used this a lot to power augers on the farm. Crudely adjustable for speed, by opening the valve part way. or if you have a pressure compensasted flow control instead of the ball valve, you can get some speed control. Might be a heat source though, depending on loads and speeds. Oft times, simple is best. kcj |

Remember safety first as well. This circuit is not suitable where the motor position must be secured like a propulsion circuit or any other application where someone could get caught in a pinch point should the motor move unexpectedly.
