check your belt loads vs. the allowable force and distance for the pump fron bearing. you may have to go to pump mfr.

alterhnate: Helland (ZeroMax) overhung load adaptor. pump plugs in one end, belt mounts on other end.

Alternate: pillow block or flange bearing, but mechanically hokey.

q: how will you disconnect the unused gas or electric driver? Will the belts be loosened from one pulley and installed on the other, or does it have to disconnect automatically or remotely?

hi kevin, the pump will be installed on a plate that will slide that will tension the (link) belt so i can switch drive motors when i have to. i see what you are getting at, take some of the side load off with alternates,-never thought of that.
